The Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 is confirmed for Sprint, At&t and U.S. Cellular! Way back in May the world was introduced to some excessively oversized smart phone coming out of Samsung. The details suggested a Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Galaxy Mega 5.8 were inbound. Today Samsung has confirmed the Galaxy Mega 6.3 and just like that, the world is bound to yet one more obnoxiously large phablet. So as the Galaxy Note III loom’s over the oversized smart phone range, Samsung is seemingly putting up its own competition with the Mega 6.3. But what can we expect from such a laughably large smart phone? Let’s find out.

After a long wait Samsung has made the Galaxy Mega 6.3 an official handset. The device has been cleared for takeoff with At&t, US Cellular and Sprint. The Mega 6.3 will be made available in black and white and should begin to see the shelves of carriers sometime this month. Samsung proposes the device as “the ideal hybrid mobile device” blending the smart phone and tablet experience into one lovely device. While pricing in dollars has not yet been announced it’s currently being sold throughout Asia and Europe for approximately €390 which currently translates into about $520. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 comes with a 6.3 inch 1280×720 touch screen display with density of 233 pixels per inch. The Mega is running with the likes of Android version 4.2 and Samsung’s Nature UX UI. The Mega should also be packing a 3200 mAh battery and a dual core Snapdragon 400 system chip that clocks a 1.7 GHz processor. Additionally it comes with 1.5 GB of RAM and up to 16 GB of internal storage. It will also allow for user expandable memory options via micro SD up to 64 GB. Around back of the mega we find an 8 mega pixel camera with LED flash and full 1080p HD video recording as well as a front facing shooter that sports a 1.9 mega pixel sensor. Additional connectivity can be found with GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, NFC and MHL.
