The infamous Blackberry Z10 makes its debut stateside. Blackberry took to the stage early this year back in January to announce their new operating system and handsets. While the new QNX based operating system is the in the shadows star of the announcement the Z10 has taken the limelight. Since its announcement however we’ve all been holding our breath for a stateside launch. While Z10 pricing and availability have been for the most part scheduled it’s good to see the Z10 finally make its way to At&t. The Z10 was launched at TMo for business class customers only on March 11th; however Ma’bells new version is available to anyone.
At&t has announced that the brand new Blackberry Z10 is officially available through their services. The handset is currently on sale for the standard smart phone price of two hundred bucks with a new two year contract. The price goes up a bit when you take the contract out of the picture however. But what can one expect from the Blackberry Z10? The Z10 starts with the likes of Blackberry 10, which is the company’s latest in mobile OS that has yet to even stretch its legs in ability. The slate styled handset measures in at a mere 9 mm thick and houses a 4.2 inch touch screen that offers up a 768×1280 pixel resolution at a solid 356 pixels per inch. The Z10 comes with an 1800 mAh L-S1 battery that can last all day and internal hardware that helps it push along thought even heavy use days. Internally the Z10 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 system chip that runs with a dual core 1.5 GHz Krait processor, an Adreno 225 GPU, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage and expandable micro SD memory options up to 64 GB. Around back of its rather nice build is an 8 mega pixel camera with LED flash and 1080p HD video recording, while a 2 mega pixel front facing shooter resides within the bezel. Additional connectivity will be provided by Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, a micro USB connector, micro HDMI, NFC functionality and of course 4G LTE. The Z10 is expected to makes its rounds with most of the major carriers here stateside, but its opening tour of duty on Ma’bell may help prove its worth.
